Editorial policy

Open Home Journal aims to make its writing clear, careful and useful. We distinguish explanation from opinion, avoid presenting personal preferences as universal rules and make corrections when something needs putting right.

Accuracy and clarity

We check factual statements against appropriate sources and write with care about what is known, uncertain or a matter of taste. Where a subject has meaningful limits, we say so rather than implying that one suggestion suits every household. We do not offer professional advice or ask readers to take on work beyond ordinary, low-risk household choices.

Independence

Editorial decisions are made for readers, not as a condition of a partnership. Payment or a commercial relationship does not guarantee coverage, a favourable view or a particular conclusion. We aim to describe products and ideas in fair terms and to make relevant interests clear.

Corrections

If a reader spots an error, we review the concern and amend the page when needed. When a change materially affects the meaning, we explain that a correction has been made. Readers can send a correction through the Contact page and identify the article and passage.

Paid and partner material

Any paid article, promotional placement or other partner material is clearly identified as such, so readers can distinguish it from independent editorial work. Partner links and placements are labelled where they appear; commercial relationships do not determine our editorial conclusions.
