Write for us
Open Home Journal welcomes pitches that help readers see domestic spaces and routines with fresh clarity. We are interested in distinct, well-shaped ideas, not generic lists or claims that one household arrangement suits everyone.
What we welcome
Pitch thoughtful explainers about rooms, objects, household habits, design choices or the background of domestic life. Comparisons should clarify what changes between options and who might find each useful. We also welcome grounded accounts of ordinary home life that offer a clear perspective without presenting one person's preferences as a universal rule.
A strong pitch
Send a concise outline that states the central idea, why it matters to a general reader and what the piece would help them understand or decide. Include a proposed working title, the main points you would cover and a short note about your relevant experience or perspective. Flag any commercial interest or material connection to the subject.
How to send it
Please send proposals through the Contact page and choose the editorial question option. Unsolicited completed work is less helpful than a focused pitch. We cannot promise a response time or publication, and an accepted proposal may be edited for clarity, accuracy and fit.
